EDUCATION
We specialise in the delivery of services across education settings, including nurseries, mainstream, specialist and independent schools and pupil-referral units.

WHY DO EDUCATION SETTINGS NEED THERAPY SERVICES?

Education settings are complex and demanding environments. To navigate these successfully and to access learning effectively, children and young people require a range of physical and cognitive skills. For example, the ability to attend and concentrate, to sit and maintain posture, to understand and follow routines, to listen and act on instructions, to read and write, to communicate and to develop social relationships.

Any difficulties relating to these skills may have a detrimental impact on the attainment, behaviour or well-being of a child or young person. If difficulties manifest as disruptive or challenging behaviours, these may undermine the delivery of teaching and the safety of peers and teaching staff.

All children and young people with identified or emerging difficulties must be given the appropriate support to realise their maximum potential and to prevent the teaching and safety of others from being affected. In some instances, this support may be a legal obligation under provisions such as education, health and care plans (EHCPs).

Unfortunately, teaching staff may not have the time or expertise to provide this support themselves, meaning that specialist clinical input is required.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

We provide education settings with specialist services in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and sensory integration therapy.

Our therapy services benefit children and young people who have recognised medical conditions or learning, social and emotional difficulties and also all those who simply require some additional support with aspects of their development.

We can be commissioned on a case-by-case basis or regularly (weekly, monthly or termly), for a contracted number of hours, as determined by the level of need and resource availability.
