Speech and Language Therapy

What is paediatric speech and language therapy?

Paediatric speech and language therapists specialise in helping children and young people with speech, language, communication and feeding difficulties. They do this by assessing an individual’s needs and putting into place a treatment programme that facilitates the acquisition and development of skills.

How can we help?

At Shine Therapy Services we are able to provide assistance with general and specialist areas of speech and language therapy:

  • Attention and listening
  • Understanding what others say
  • Using first words and putting sentences together
  • Remembering which words to use and what they mean
  • Knowing how to use communication in social situations
  • Unclear speech
  • Stammering / stuttering
  • Poor voice quality

  • Phonological disorders / verbal dyspraxia
  • Specific language impairment

In our treatment programmes we are able to employ a range of therapy techniques, including the Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme, Narrative Therapy, the Word Aware Vocabulary Programme, Shape Coding and the Alex Kelly Talkabout Social Interaction Skills Programme.
